Good news if you drink English or Irish brands of tea. Kenya expects an 11% increase in tea production this year. Last year, tea production in Kenya was affected by a drought.
Kenya is the world’s biggest producer of black tea. Kenyan Teas are vital parts of many English and Irish tea brands.
A drought caused tea production to decrease last year. But rains have increased this year. Tea production is expected to rise to over 750 million pounds. Tea is responsible for 25% of its GDP (gross domestic product).
