Bewleys Wins 11 Gold Medals at International Competition

So, you want try an award-winning tea?  Well, we have one for you.  Bewley’s has won 11 gold medals at the 2010 international Great Taste Awards for coffee and tea.  The 11 gold medals is a record for any Irish coffee and tea company.

Both Bewley’s Special Blend Fairtrade Tea and Earl Grey Tea were awarded 2 gold stars.

Among other Bewley’s Tea, the Original Blend, Gold Blend, Irish Afternoon, Decaffeinated Blend and Irish Afternoon Loose Tea were each awared 1 gold star each.

Run by the Guild of Fine Foods, the Great Taste awards are recognized as the Oscars of the food world. The awards are the standard for specialty foods. The judges for the awards are fine food retailers, chefs, restaurant critics, food writers and other industry experts.

Over 1,300 companies entered the Great Taste Awards 2010, submitting over 6,000 products.

Paul O’Toole, Bewley’s Master Roaster, said “We are unique among Irish tea producers as the four Bewley’s teabag varieties currently available in Irish supermarkets, Original Blend, Gold Blend, Special Blend and Decaf Blend all won gold!”
