More good news about the health benefits of green tea. According to a new study in the International Journal of Cancer, women drinking green tea and eating mushrooms lower their risk of developing breast cancer.
The study tracked 2,000 women in China. Women who ate mushrooms and consumed green tea daily only had 11 to 18% of the risk of breast cancer as other women who did not eat mushrooms or drink green tea.
In China, breast cancer rates are up to 5X lower than in western countries.
The study supports suggestions that eating traditional foods helps the low breast cancer rates in China.
Although more research is necessary, green tea is part of a healthy diet.
