The Journal reported on a study from Tohoku University Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering in Sendai, Japan. The study found that elderly men and women consuming 4 or more cups of green tea had 44% less chance of having depression symptoms.

The study covered over 1,000 elderly Japanese citizens. Reseachers think that theanine, a substance found in green tea, may be the reason for the study’s results.

Researchers caution that more study is necessary.

A study in the American Journal of Epidemiology explored the relationship between green tea and blood cancer in approximately 20,000 men and 22,000 women in Japan. In almost 10 years of follow through, it was learned that blood cancer risks were 42% lower when subjects drank 5 or more cups of green tea per day. Plus, drinking the same number of green tea cups per day resulted in 48% lower rink of lymphoid cancer.

More research into the subject is necessary. But make sure green tea is part of your diet.

The video is about 6 minutes long. It is very worthwhile. Once we get permission to use the video, we will put in here (we want to act above board).

You should visit Dilmah’ s web site. It has a lot of great information on the health benefits of tea.

Of course, make sure to return to teadog.com when you are ready to buy your Dilmah Tea.
