Tea drinking in the country most noted for tea drinking, the United Kingtom, is on the way down. This is the conclusion of a study released by the UK Government which tracked 150,000 households during the time periof of 1974 to 2000.
At the start of the study, 1974, 50% of the liquid consumed each day was tea. By 2015 that dropped to 37%. Residents of the UK still consider tea to be their favorite hot beverage.
Partly validating this study is the increasing emphasis on green, fruit and herbal teas by UK Tea Companies. All of the large UK tea companies, such as Tetley, Twinings, Unilever are bring our more of these tea varieties.
